Creative Kitchen takes its role in infection control seriously. The health, safety and welfare of all our families, staff and volunteers is of upmost important. The purpose of this policy is to ensure all activities and events provided by Creative Kitchen take place in an environment which is safe for all.
Our infection control policy focuses on two key elements; minimising contact and hygiene measures. The following steps will be implemented in all workshops:
- Each venue has been carefully assessed and class sizes reduced to allow for social distancing. Workstations will be positioned two metres apart.
- Each child/household will have their own workstation, complete with their own set of cooking tools. No equipment will be shared in class. All workstations and equipment will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised before and after each class.
- In addition to our usual preparation routine, we ask that prior to class everyone washes their hands. Upon entry and exit everyone will use hand sanitizer. Hand cleaning stations will be available at several points throughout venues.
- Cooking activities have been carefully planned to encourage social distancing. Additional activities including craft activities will be provided in pre-prepared packs to prevent the need for sharing materials.
- All staff, workshop leaders and volunteers have completed an infection control course.
- At the beginning and end of each workshop, all workstations will be cleaned and disinfected following the two-stage approach, using products that comply with BS EN 1276. All touch points and toilets will also be thoroughly cleaned before and after each workshop.
- Thorough risk assessments have been completed for all venues.
- Where possible venues will operate a one-way system to help minimise contact.
- We encourage families to use the toilet before attending our workshops, although toilets will be open for use, we aim to limit the need to use the facilities.
- In line with government guidance all adults, unless you are exempt from doing so, are required to wear a face covering in community centres.
- In order to increase ventilation, where possible windows and doors will be open.
- As normal procedure we will complete a register for each workshop. In the event of a covid-19 outbreak we will need to share contact information with the NHS for the purpose of Test and Trace.
- Please do not attend workshops if you are unwell or anyone in your household is showing symptoms of Coronavirus.
